Fourteen hours to save the Earth:
Why Flash Gordon is an illuminating film
by Michael Nield, 17th April 2006
Flash Gordon (1980) is a swashbuckling two hours of good against evil. It's even more amusing for the many tongue-in-cheek references to the Illuminati and the New World Order. Once initiated, it is hard to watch a movie or t.v. programme without noticing them. Most of the time it is covert propaganda, designed to acclimate and pacify. On rare occasions, it provides a genuine warning of sinister agendas. But in the case of Flash Gordon, it seems that the higher-ups in the entertainment business are parodying the puppet-masters pulling our strings.Ming the Merciless, Ruler of the Universe has perfected the Roman art of divide et impera - divide and rule. Until the intervention of Flash, Vultan and Prince Barin are at each other's throats, and subject to Ming's despotism. This has long been a favourite tactic of the Illuminati, used for both geopolitical and social engineering. Recent history has been dominated by it, from the Cold War right up to the ongoing Iraq war. Closer to home, the destructive force of 'multiculturalism', has arrived in America. Mass immigration from Mexico has given rise to violent race hate groups such as Aztlan and La Raca which threaten civil unrest in the south-west. The term 'Balkanization' was born out of the civil war in Yugoslavia which the Illuminati helped to foment.
Ming also possesses some really handy gizmos for oppressing his subjects, particularly the machine that can erase memory and reprogramme the mind. Yet, even this is art imitating life, since in the 1950's and 60's, the U.S. Government had its own top secret mind-control programme called MK-ULTRA. The European Parliament has recently warned of electromagnetic weapons, like those possessed by the U.S. military, being used surreptitiously to alter human mood and behaviour.
Many of the MK-ULTRA scientists were former Nazis. When Ming's henchman Klytus is watching the memories drain out of Dr. Zarkov's brain, he remarks upon the images of Adolf Hitler: "Now HE showed promise!".
Like the Roman emperor Nero, Ming's other pleasure in life is abusing his sex slaves. The global sex trade has boomed in the last ten years, most of it run by multi-national corporations such as Dyncorp and Halliburton under the auspices of United Nations peace-keeping operations. Thousands of women and girls from Eastern Europe and elsewhere have been kidnapped, put on jumbo jets and flown to different countries around the world. They are, no doubt, used to bribe and blackmail men in key positions.
The occult practice of child sacrifice is also referenced in the film. When Vultan gets a little unruly in the Emperor's presence, Klytus threatens to sacrifice his daughter. His hooded garb is reminiscent of the outfits world leaders like to don during the summer festivities at Bohemian Grove. Suitably dressed, they perform the 'Cremation of Care' ritual, a mock human sacrifice to the Canaanite deity Molech. In ancient times, the worshippers would sacrifice their own children.
Masonic and occultic images appear throughout. Klytus and Kala wear uniforms adorned with an emblem very similar to the Masonic square and compasses.
Ming wears a large ring - an essential item of Masonic regalia, which is the source of his power.
He uses it to trigger earthquakes and tidal waves, to put Dale under mind control for sexual interrogation, and finally, in an attempt to defend himself from Flash at the end of the film. As he dies, the ring appears to teleport him away. In the final frames, malevolent laughter is heard in the distance whilst an unknown hand picks up the ring, suggesting that Ming has cheated death.
It is not surprising that the ring is used to close the film on a questionmark. A ring is a circle, a central occultic symbol. It represents the eternal and cyclical nature of the universe and the occultic belief in the perfection of mankind through reincarnation. At the same time, it symbolizes the sun which bestows light upon mankind. To the Illuminati, 'light' means knowledge, their source of power. The circle is often depicted as a serpent chasing its tail, (an 'ouroroboros') because man was tempted to acquire knowledge by the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Ming's tunic and court are adorned with the sun symbol.
Not-so-hidden in plain view, the Dollar bill has carried the sun symbol since 1913 when the Federal Reserve was created. It contains an all-seeing eye and sits at the top of a pyramid, telling the world that the money powers and the Illuminati are one and the same, watching over us from on high. Beneath it is a Latin inscription which translates as 'a new order of the ages'.
In Codex Magica, Texe Marrs notes that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wears a Masonic ring. Schwarzenegger was elevated to the governorship after attending Bohemian Grove and traveling to England to meet with Lord Rothschild and other financiers including Warren Buffett. Here he is, sporting the ring whilst he gropes Denise Van Outen on national British television. Compare it with the jewellery on Ming's roving hand.
Supernatural Powers
It amuses Ming to visit the wrath of God upon unfortunate civilizations- typhoons, earthquakes, tornados etc. Today, this is known as 'geophysical warfare'. Small amounts of energy are fed into larger natural energy stores in order to target and unleash them upon an enemy. There has been much written about the secret use of weather modification and other geophysical weapons by governments around the world. The main focus of this attention has been the HAARP project in Alaska and the global 'chemtrail' phenomenon.
It is possible that the creators of the film knew about this technology back in 1980, since it was under development decades before then. In 1970, former National Security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski wrote in his book Between Two Ages, that
Technology will make available, to the leaders of major nations, techniques for conducting secret warfare, of which only a bare minimum of the security forces need be appraised... techniques of weather modification could be employed to produce prolonged periods of drought or storm. In the late 60's, the world renowned geophysicist, professor Gordon J. F. MacDonald was a member of the President's Science Advisory Committee, and later a member of the President's Council on Environmental Quality. In 1968 he published a book called Unless Peace Comes which contained a chapter on "How to wreck the environment". He describes the use of weather manipulation, climate modification, polar ice cap melting or destabilization, ozone depletion techniques, earthquake engineering, ocean wave control and brain wave manipulation using the planet's energy fields. He also said that these types of weapons would be developed and, when used, would be virtually undetectable by their victims.
The usefulness of these kinds of secret weapons can be deduced from reading the Report from Iron Mountain, produced in the early 1960's, allegedly by a U.S. government think-tank, but probably a satire. Drawing upon George Orwell's 1984, it suggested that warfare and poverty were essential to the preservation of a ruling elite. In the absence of warfare, environmental catastrophe was posed as a good substitute. Ming gives these conclusions his wry endorsement:
Ming: After the earthquakes and tidal waves, they won't be quite the human beings you remember. They'll be more tractable, easier for you to rule, in the name of Ming.Flash: You mean Slaves.
Ming: Let's say, they'll be satisfied with less.
In recent years, the forces of nature have rarely been out of the news - the global warming hoax, the Asian tsunami, and the hurricanes culminating in the loss of New Orleans. The disruption of the U.S. oil supply by a hurricane was the subject of a t.v. docudrama called Oil Storm, broadcast only two months before hurricane Katrina.
Years before Katrina, physics professor James McCanney claimed that it was possible to steer and magnify (but not create) hurricanes with laser satellites (Principia Meteorologia, 2004, p.224). Based on the hypothesis that hurricanes are electrically driven from the ionosphere, he believes the military can drag them around like a bull with a ring through its nose, just by directing an ionizing beam at a particular area of the storm. Whether this is true or not, it is still worth speculating how the Illuminati might use such secret weapons to achieve their ultimate goal of world domination and social control.
There are many government documents and statements on geophysical weapons, even to the point now where a Bill has been introduced to Congress calling for the establishment of an official weather modification board. In 1997 Secretary of Defense William Cohen warned of potential eco-terrorism by using electromagnetic waves to set off earthquakes. It is admitted in the mainstream press that there are trillions of dollars missing from the Pentagon, which provides plenty of scope for large scale black-budget operations.
Flash Gordon has a happy ending. Ming's divide and rule strategy is vanquished when Flash unites Vultan and Prince Barin in opposition. Meanwhile, back on planet Earth, we're giving the Illuminati a run for their huge pile of money by unravelling their tangled web of deception. For all their sky-zappers, earthquake machines, pyramids, snakes, all-seeing eyes, robes, rings, banks, newspapers, film studios, sex slaves, drug dealing, and strange hand signals...., they're becoming increasingly vulnerable to exposure.
For this reason, it's worth watching an old film that illuminates current trends with humour and style.
